Why you shouldn’t hide your business profile

For some time, we’ve allowed you to hide your business profile from public view. We think lots of our members have hidden their business profiles by mistake, thinking that their business profile is linked to quotes.

We never show your quotes publicly. Only specific customers can see your quotes and prices, not other businesses. When you hide your profile, the general public, including other businesses, cannot see your general business information – i.e. Your Business name, contact details, portfolio images, licensing info, etc.

Hiding your profile also stops you from showing up on our industry pages, where we often showcase our top business members.

So only hide your profile in the following circumstances:

1. You’re not actually running a business. If you’ve stopped trading (or haven’t started trading yet or are not actually a business), please hide your profile.
2. You’re moonlighting and don’t want anyone else to know you’re doing work on the side.
3. You don’t want to be found in Google. Businesses spend a staggering amount of time and money trying to rank highly in search engines. So why on earth would you want to stop yourself from showing in searches?
