- List the date of your move and the time you’d like removalists to turn up.
- Include details of what needs to be moved, including how many bedrooms.
- Let the removalist know if there are any difficulties accessing the property, such as multiple flights of stairs or narrow laneways.
- Find out if there are any restrictions with parking.
- Don’t pick the cheapest price (if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys).
- Make sure you agree on what’s included for the price (don’t want arguments later) and if there are any added fees such as ‘back to base’ charges or fuel levies.
- Check if the removalist has furniture insurance and what the conditions are. Does it just cover items wrapped by the removalist or all items during the transit and unpacking stages?
- Make sure they have feedback – if customers are happy to vouch for them, it’s likely they are a quality business.
