Small business owner dads eager to spend more time with the kids
Aussie dads might be the most hands-on they’ve even been, but they still struggle to find as much time as they’d like with their kids.
Aussie dads might be the most hands-on they’ve even been, but they still struggle to find as much time as they’d like with their kids.
Half of all small business owners (51 per cent) who are dads wish they had more time to spend with the kids, a new ServiceSeeking.com.au survey has revealed.
But their businesses are doing great: small business in Australia is booming with 68 per cent expecting an increase in revenue in the year ahead, following a successful year gone by in which 42 per cent upped their profits. And 36 per cent are expecting to hire more employees in the near future to keep up with their demands.
With the working week changing, a staggering 94 per cent of small business owners often work weekends.
ServiceSeeking.com.au CEO Jeremy Levitt offers some strategies to restore work-life balance.
“It’s definitely a hard thing to juggle. The demands of running your own business are often underestimated by those who don’t, but it’s a big challenge to stay on top of your business and your family. But you don’t need to do it all yourself. Increasingly, people are outsourcing the jobs they find too painful to do themselves.
“Local services marketplaces like ServiceSeeking.com.au offer a range of services that you can outsource at great prices including bookkeepers, house cleaners, plumbers, painters, handymen and everything in between.”
