We’ve seen a huge increase in renovations at ServiceSeeking.com.au. In the last six months alone, 4,836 jobs were listed! From these jobs we decided to find out the key renovation hotspots in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. These were the suburbs that had twenty or more renovation jobs over the last six months.
Almost half of these jobs were in NSW alone, and the majority of them were for predictable value-adding projects like kitchen and bathroom renovations, as well as new flooring and paint jobs.
Western Sydneysiders must love a good deal because Blacktown was Sydney’s most highly renovated suburb over the last six months. A lot of people in The Hills Shire must be enjoying some newly refurbished homes because Bauklham Hills and Castle Hill came in second and third.
The renovation capital of Victoria was in the industrious south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Glen Waverly, followed by nearby Hampton Park. Hampton Park trails behind in its liveability ranking for Melbourne suburbs, coming in at 288, so this might be why the locals are refurbishing their homes! Family favourite Mitcham was the next most renovated suburb.
Mount Gravatt East easily took out the top renovation hotspot in Brisbane, followed by another south-eastern suburb, Eight Mile Plains. Keeping development trends on the east side, Morningside came in third. We thought perhaps this might be because Morningside was affected by the Brisbane floods, and families were rebuilding or renovating after the floods. What do you think?
