A few years ago I ordered some T-shirts online from a site called Palmer Cash. They did something really clever that turned my $60 order of 3 t-shirts into at least $200 worth of additional business using one simple trick. People Marching with Bullhorns

In my package they included a half dozen 20% discount cards each with a unique promotional code, an expiry date, and a short message asking me to hand them out to my friends if I liked the t-shirts.

I got the package delivered to the office and handed the cards out to some work-mates. At least 4 of my colleagues ordered t-shirts from them within the next month, turning my $60 sale into a few hundred dollars of extra in business. All for the cost of printing a few business cards.

Whilst this is a retail example, it’s not hard to imagine how local service businesses could use a similar approach.
